2. What data we process
This site has no forms. When you send us an email, we process the information you provide in it yourself, such as your name, email address and the content of your message. The site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Your language choice is stored in a cookie so that the site opens in your chosen language next time.
3. Visitor analytics
This site uses Aalto Visuals' cookieless visitor analytics to follow how the site is used, in aggregate. It uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It records the pages opened, where you came from (for example a search engine or a campaign link), time on page and scroll depth, screen width and browser language, and clicks on the contact and donation buttons. The device type, browser, operating system and country are also inferred from the request. Visitors are told apart by a hashed identifier that changes daily. IP addresses are not stored, and the data is not used to identify individual visitors. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in developing the site (Article 6(1)(f)).
4. How the data is used
The information in your email is used only to reply to your message and to handle your matter. The legal basis for processing is our legitimate interest in replying to messages sent to us (EU General Data Protection Regulation, Article 6(1)(f)).
5. Data retention
We keep messages only as long as needed to handle the matter, after which they are deleted. We do not disclose data to third parties for marketing purposes.
6. Service providers
The site runs on the Vercel platform. Visitor analytics data is processed by Aalto Visuals, which built the site. Emails are received in the email service used by the association.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access the data concerning you, to request its correction or deletion, and to object to its processing. Contact us at tommisun@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman in Finland (tietosuoja.fi).
8. Donations
Donations are made directly by bank transfer, and no payment or card data is processed on this site. The fundraising is organised by Gambian Lapset ry under fundraising permit RA/2025/458 granted by the National Police Board of Finland.
